1. Cookies today
The current version of thepsychopathic.me (the "Site") sets no cookies and does not read them. That will change when advertising is added (see section 5).
2. What we store instead
The Site stores some information in your browser's local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB) so that your preferences and game progress survive a page reload. Most of it stays on your device: your theme, where you left off in a game, and your statistics. That storage is needed for the Site to work. Some of it is different. An install ID and a queue of finished rounds are used to send us anonymous round summaries (see the Privacy Policy). That is audience measurement, not strictly necessary, so it is on by default with an opt-out: Don't send stats on the storage notice, the switch in Settings, or the Global Privacy Control signal. We show a short notice so you can see this.

4. How to clear it
- Open Settings (the sliders icon in the header) and press Delete all my data. This removes the IndexedDB database, and every localStorage and sessionStorage entry starting with
tpm:. Offline copies of the Site's code are kept, because they are code and not your data. - Or clear this site's data (cookies and site data) in your browser's settings. This also removes the offline copies.
Clearing it resets your progress and statistics, and removes your install ID. Finished rounds already sent to us stay in our anonymous totals; Delete all my data also asks our server to forget your install ID.
5. Third-party cookies (planned)
None are used today. We plan to add advertising, which is likely to use cookies or similar technologies set by us or by advertising partners, and we may add analytics beyond the first-party round statistics described above. Before that happens, this section will list each cookie, who sets it, why, and for how long, and we will ask for your consent before setting any that are not strictly necessary.
