Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-10-15

These terms apply when you use thepsychopathic.me (the "Site", "we", "us") and the games on it (the "Games"). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site. We will not take it personally. Much.

1. Entertainment only

The Site and the Games exist for entertainment. Nothing on the Site is advice of any kind. Nothing you win, lose or fail to win has any value outside the Site.

2. Deliberately unfair and deceptive by design

The Games are built to mislead you. Showing you false information is the point of the product, not a defect in it. For example, Gaslit shows one false tile in every row of feedback it gives you, and the Site tells you plainly that it does this.

Every Game that cheats is meant to cheat. A false result inside a Game is not a bug, an error or a breach of these terms.
The deception is confined to the Games' gameplay. Everything outside a Game (these terms, the privacy and cookie policies, and the way we describe what we do with your data) is written to be accurate, and we intend it to be.
Where a Game confesses its lies at the end of a round, that confession is the truthful account of the round.

3. The Site is provided "as is"

We provide the Site and the Games "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that daily puzzles will be available at any particular time, or that your saved progress will never be lost. Progress is stored on your own device (see the Privacy Policy); clearing your browser data, changing device or using private browsing can erase it, and we cannot restore it.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, goodwill, sleep or composure, arising from your use of the Site or the Games. You have paid us nothing for the Site, and our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited accordingly, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use bots, scripts or other automated means to play the Games, to submit results, or to place unreasonable load on the Site;
try to disrupt, probe or break into the Site or its servers, or to bypass any technical limit;
copy the Site's content in bulk, or scrape it in a way that harms the Site or other users;
use the Site for anything unlawful.

Reading the Game's code in your browser, and working out which tiles are lying, is not abuse. It is, depending on your point of view, either cheating or playing.

6. Intellectual property

The Site, the Games, their code, text, design, logo and artwork belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may play the Games and share your own results (for example the share text a Game generates). You may not copy, sell, republish or create derivative works from the Site or the Games except as permitted by law or with our written permission. Third-party word lists and open-source components used in the Games remain subject to their own licences.

7. Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian read these terms with you. Do not use the Site if you are under 13.

8. Changes

We may change the Site, the Games or these terms at any time. When we change these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be announced on the Site before they take effect where reasonably possible.

9. Contact
